Pediatric care today is complicated and fragmented, leaving American families to juggle multiple providers and appointments while dealing with long delays in care. Pediatricians and specialists also face growing workloads, administrative burdens, and outdated systems.
A new healthcare startup, Zarminali Health, aims to solve these problems by creating a seamless, integrated care model that brings together primary and specialty care under one roof. The company’s innovative approach simplifies care coordination for families, supports clinicians with modern tools, and enhances the overall healthcare experience for children.
This new model, which combines technology and expert care teams, has already attracted significant investor interest, raising $40 million in seed funding within just three months of its founding. The investment was led by General Catalyst and includes a venture debt facility.
This $40 million in seed funding will help Zarminali build the first national, multi-specialty pediatric group offering modern, seamless care and will support the company’s launch and the opening of its first locations in the United States in the fall of 2024.
Transforming Pediatric Care into a seamless, family-centered approach
Zarminali Health was founded in July 2024 by Danish Qureshi, a healthcare veteran with firsthand experience facing the challenges of pediatric care. The company’s mission is to create a more efficient, coordinated, and compassionate healthcare system for children, eliminating the burden of care coordination for families while offering pediatric clinicians the tools and support they need to thrive.
“Zarminali is being painstakingly designed by parents like myself who have struggled against the current flaws of our healthcare system and know that every child deserves amazing care, from birth to adulthood,” said Qureshi.
“After navigating the broken system with my daughter, I wanted to apply my experience transforming outpatient mental healthcare at LifeStance to improving pediatric care on a national scale. This initial funding round is an immense validator and kickstarts our mission to create a world where every child’s health journey is seamlessly coordinated, where advanced technology enhances every interaction, and where our clinicians and team members support each family every step of the way.”
Zarminali Health was founded with a mission to tackle the long-standing challenges in pediatric care, including fragmented care coordination, clinician burnout, and administrative inefficiencies. By integrating primary and specialty care through innovative technology and a collaborative care model, Zarminali seeks to create a more seamless, supportive, and efficient healthcare experience for children and their families.
“This investment, falling just three months after our founding, will fuel our work to build the first national, multi-specialty pediatric group that provides modern, seamlessly coordinated care. We’re grateful for General Catalyst’s belief in our vision,” the company statement said.
“Pediatrics has long been overlooked, and we deeply share in Zarminali Health’s belief that our children and families deserve better care,” said Holly Maloney, Managing Director of General Catalyst. “With a strong founding team, collaborative care model, and advanced technology, we believe the team is on the right path to transform pediatric healthcare nationwide.”
Zarminali Health is on track to open its first locations in the fall of 2024, with plans to rapidly expand its network of multispecialty pediatric centers across the United States. The company’s long-term vision is to create a national network that connects families with the best pediatric care available, all while supporting clinicians in their vital work.
