A delegation of Saudi ministers, VIPs and visionary leaders were among the first guests of The Red Sea destination. They arrived at Red Sea International Airport (RSI) aboard a special-edition liveried SAUDIA flight from Riyadh. The visitors enjoyed a tour of the destination, including a stop at the St. Regis Red Sea Resort, and were shown the many experiences including watersports, diving and in-land adventure.

  • The Red Sea is welcoming its first guests this year as the RSI became operational.
  • The destination will comprise 50 resorts when fully completed in 2030..
  • It will be offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential properties across 22 islands and six inland sites.
  • The destination will include luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment, and leisure facilities.

The Red Sea Airport is powered by 100% renewable energy and will eventually be equipped to offer Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) as standard for all visiting aircraft.

Sustainable Aviation

The company, which is behind the world’s most ambitious regenerative tourism destinations, The Red Sea and Amaala, is committed to sustainability, using SAF from day one and exploring the possibility of fully electric seaplanes.

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, said that the company is committed to creating a better future for all.“As a pilot myself, I was deeply invested in the efforts to build Fly Red Sea. Our goal was to create a company that would allow us to maintain high standards across every guest touchpoint … to explore technologies to reduce the aviation industry’s carbon footprint, and which would prioritize giving skilled, rewarding career opportunities to the Saudi people. Fly Red Sea achieves this on every level,” Pagano added.

Expressing gratitude for the partners, Pagano said that “Now, with our airport receiving a regular schedule of flights and first resorts taking bookings, it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the world discovers just how special the Saudi Red Sea coast is.”
