Apple has announced its long-awaited futuristic mixed reality headset called Apple Vision Pro. It was launched at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2023 (WWDC) alongside several new Macs and updates to the software that powers the iPhone and other devices.
“It’s the first Apple product you look through and not at,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook during the presentation. “Just as the Mac introduced us to personal computing, and iPhone introduced us to mobile computing, Apple Vision Pro introduces us to spatial computing”. He said that “Vision Pro is years ahead and unlike anything created before — with a revolutionary new input system and thousands of groundbreaking innovations.”

Apple Vision Pro features
Here is all you need to know about Apple’s first mixed reality headset:
Best of both worlds: The device, which looks like a pair of ski goggles, seamlessly blends digital content with the physical world. The device features EyeSight, an innovation that allows seamless connections between users and their surroundings. When someone approaches a person wearing Vision pro, the device feels transparent, allowing users to see the user’s eyes.
3D interface: It goes beyond the boundaries of a traditional display and introduces a fully three-dimensional user interface controlled with eyes, hands, and voice.
Infinite canvas: Vision Pro allows users to be more creative and productive. Its ultra-high-resolution display system ensures that every experience feels like it’s taking place in front of the user’s eyes in real-time.
Battery and chip: It features a separate external battery pack. The headset can be used all-day use when plugged in, and up to two hours of use with its battery. The device is powered by the combination of an M2 processor and a new R1 chip specifically developed for mixed reality devices, and the cutting-edge visionOS operating system. R1 can proces input from 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones, according to Apple.
Resolution: At the core of Vision Pro is its groundbreaking ultra-high-resolution display system, powered by an advanced Apple silicon chip. ision Pro uses micro-OLED technology to pack 23 million pixels into two displays, each the size of a postage stamp, with wide color and exceptional dynamic range.
Breakthrough design
Apple Vision Pro incorporates a single piece of 3D-formed and laminated glass that acts as an optical surface for its cameras and sensors, seamlessly merging the physical and digital realms. The modular design allows for a customized fit, with a gently curved aluminum alloy frame around the user’s face.
Extraordinary experiences
Apple Vision Pro revolutionizes personal computing, offering a transformative user experience for interacting with apps, capturing and revisiting memories, enjoying immersive entertainment, and connecting with others through FaceTime.
Movies: Apple Vision Pro offers captivating entertainment experiences with its dual ultra-high-resolution displays, that create a virtual screen sensation of 100 feet wide, accompanied by advanced Spatial Audio for an immersive audiovisual journey.
Gaming: The spatial computing capabilities of Apple Vision Pro will take gaming to new heights, enabling a spectrum of immersive titles and supporting over 100 Apple Arcade games with impressive audio and compatibility with popular game controllers.
Where and how to buy it?
Apple Vision Pro starts at $3,499 and will be available early next year. Customers who book an appointment at an Apple Store will get a demo and a chance to personalize their fit for Vision Pro.
